BETWEEN DREAM AND REALITY

After having produced The Sound of Music for the very first time (in 2009), co-produced Annie (2010), Hairspray (2011), The Wizard of Oz (2012) and Fiddler on the Roof (2016), the PBA de Charleroi fine arts company continues its collaboration with Ars Lyrica to present this year The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, adapted from the film by Jacques Demy and Michel Legrand, which marked the emergence of Catherine Deneuve. To recreate the atmosphere of the film The Umbrellas of Cherbourg on stage by combining a genuine quest for modernity with a sincere attachment to the original work’s visuals is the desire of this new co-production.
