In cooperation with the Liège Tourist Information Office

Throughout this exceptional anniversary season, the Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège, in cooperation with the Liège Tourist Information Office and its team of professional tour guides, will be opening its doors to you.

Since its inauguration in 1820, the history of the Théâtre Royal has been written to the backdrop of its extraordinary architecture. You can now enjoy the opportunity of discovering a venue that has transcended the ages and which is celebrating its 200th birthday this year! You will also find out how a show is developed before its first performance, thanks to complex collaboration between the opera house’s technical and artistic teams.  This virtual tour will then take you to the Italian-style main opera hall, allow you to climb on stage to discover the machinery’s technological progress, but also transport you via the panoramic elevator to the terrace of the 9th-floor reception room which boasts an unbeatable view over the city centre. You will then come back downstairs to admire the splendidly restored Foyer Grétry regilded just like yesteryear.

These visits last 1 hour 30 minutes and are organised for both groups and individuals.
