One of the great moments that marked this season was undoubtedly the rediscovery of Auber’s Domino Noir, presented on our stage in February 2018 and then at the Opéra Comique.

It is with pride that we can announce that Le Domino Noir has just received in Paris, Monday, June 18, the Grand Prize for the best lyric performance of the year awarded by the Professional Association of Theater, Music and Dance Criticism .

The Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège is delighted by this beautiful and fruitful collaboration with the Opéra Comique and the Opéra de Lausanne, and sends its sincerest thanks to the directors Valérie Lesort and Christian Hecq, whose first experience at the opera was a real master stroke, as well as to our first guest conductor Patrick Davin, who knew how to capture the finesse of Auber’s music. Finally, we warmly thank Anne-Catherine Gillet, Cyrille Dubois and all the artists who have so aptly embodied these characters too long forgotten!
