Biography

He studied at the Marseille music academy and joined the Marseille Opera in 1979. In 1989 he was the choirmaster for the Avignon Theatre and for the Pays du Vaucluse choir and went on to become choirmaster at the Capitole Theatre in Toulouse for twelve years. In 2003, Pierre Iodice took charge of the Marseille Opera and Philharmonic choirs. Since 2015, he has been the director of the Wallonia-Liège Royal Opera’s choirs. He has worked with Norbert Balatsch, Maurizio Arena, Evelino Pido, Friedemann Layer, Pinchas Steinberg, Paolo Arrivabeni, etc. Furthermore, he collaborated with Michel Plasson on many recordings, such as Hérodiade, Romeo and Juliette, Don Quixote and Lakmé. In 2012, he founded the Giocoso Orchestral Ensemble. He has also composed a Requiem for choir and orchestra.
