Music Chapel Festival

Inaugurated in 1939, the Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth is a musical centre of excellence that features among the world’s best. Today, its mission is based around two major themes: elite-level training by internationally-renowned masters or artists and access to the stage via a wide-ranging broadcasting network, in Belgium and worldwide.

80 years after its creation, the visionary dream of Queen Elisabeth and Eugène Ysaÿe is today in full swing. The Chapelle Musicale draws on the enthusiasm of the young people who reside there, on what they have in common and what sets them apart, all different yet inspired by the same passion for music. Each year, the Chapelle welcomes between 70 and 80 talented young people from twenty nationalities to learn in residence.

The young opera talents, accompanied by the orchestra and choirs of the Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège, will be paying homage to José van Dam for the closing concert of the Music Chapel Festival’s 11th edition.
