From radio to the stage

Nadine Sierra is an extraordinary American soprano who is among the very best of the young generation. She was discovered in her teens by a radio programme for young talents on which she performed the famous “O mio babbino caro” by Puccini and obtained a place at the Mannes College of Music in New York, where she developed her art.

With a passion for all repertoires, she sings both ancient music and modern works. Idolised on the world’s leading stages, from New York, via Paris and Berlin to Orange, she has worked with prestigious conductors and directors, such as Marc Minkowski, Daniel Barenboim, Michael Haneke, Olivier Py… Her impressively powerful voice enables her to take on dramatic roles whilst displaying ease with the altissimo register and formidable mellowness over her entire vocal range.

A performer of her time

Nadine Sierra is a modern opera singer constantly on the move. She maintains, not without humour, that she lives in her suitcase. Aware of how important communication is, she considers that the world of opera must be demystified for young children, by using the social networks. Her Facebook page is a genuine travel log of her journeys and concerts. The group she has created on the platform is a means of interaction where she converses with her readers.
