EMOTIONS

At the root of this project are young people, their enthusiasm, their energy, their talents and the way they look at the world. There is also opera, an artistic universe with inexhaustible riches, an emotional heritage, living art, with its vibrancy, richness, variety and openness. This collective creation, under construction, promises the fusion of these two worlds, focused on the great theme of human relations. With powerful movement, layers of thought, rhythmic lyrics, soaring voices and the music that exalts everything, these young people are in a process of reinvention.

The expressive and creative project L’Opéra en fusion invited more than 80 young people to work together and collaborate for fifteen months to create a performance freely inspired by the operatic repertoire.

Aged between 14 and 26 years, from nine Maisons de Jeunes youth organisations in three provinces, these young people participate in many artistic disciplines ranging from dance to theatre, music, slam and rap. Under the supervision of professionals, they are encouraged to surpass themselves by trying out new modes of expression, such as opera singing. L’Opéra en fusion encourages encounters, reflection and appropriation whilst promoting a number of values: goodwill, emancipation, thoroughness, trust, respect, etc. This is a must-see show, to marvel at what young people can achieve if given a stage!
