Respect, openness and education are three words that define the philosophy of the Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège.

Dear Friends,

Respect

For both the music and our spectators. While remaining faithful to the intentions of the composers and librettists, it constantly pushes us to surpass ourselves and offer the best to you, the people who support and breathe life into our opera house.

Openness

To rediscovering little known works or to the constant search for new talents, to whom we give the opportunity to make their first steps in the professional arena alongside experienced artists.

Education

The foundation on which our future is built.

Opera is the most beautiful of invitations to travel

Join us on a voyage through far-off lands, times gone by or founding myths via the nine operas by Puccini, Gluck/Berlioz, Bizet, Rossini, Verdi, Bellini and Delibes that are programmed for the 2019-2020 season. Among these operas will be six new productions or joint productions with partners from the four corners of the earth: the Opéra Comique in Paris, the Lausanne Opera, the Caen Theatre, the City of Luxembourg’s theatres, the Versailles Royal Opera, the Croatian National Theater in Zagreb, the Beijing Festival, the Bordeaux National Opera, the Peruvian National Grand Theatre, the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago, the ABAO-OLBE in Bilbao and the Tel-Aviv Opera.

There will also be three concerts featuring outstanding soloists as well as two interactive performances for young audiences aged five years and above.

To continue enjoyment of the opera, our performances will be broadcast on the web, radio and television thanks to our partners Musiq’3, Culturebox.fr and Mezzo.

We would like to thank everyone for the support you give to our opera house and for the unwavering loyalty you display towards us.
